One of the most annoying things about being us humans is our forgetfulness. If I were to be asked what is our greatest weakness is that we forget things so easily. It is annoying because it limits the power of the human brain so much. Just imagine the things we can do if we would have the capability to remember everything important that we have come across with. This world would be so much balanced and filled with successful people. Because of this short handedness, the human innovation has invented an assortment of things just to compensate for this weakness of ours… There’s the notepad, the smart phone, and many other things that doesn’t come on the top of my head right now because I don’t have a device to help me remember the inventions to aid us with forgetfulness…
The importance of memory might not mean too much for you right now, but just imagine this, completing a goal takes determination; it takes motivation. Why do people have to constantly look for motivation on a single task? Why can’t one motivation be good enough? – Yes, usually it isn’t. Well if you think about it, it’s the same reason why the almighty asks us to go to church at least once every week. It is because we forget. It’s because even though the events can come back to us, the feeling, the joy, or the sorrow are the first ones to go. Feelings are what drive us to move forward. It is the force that motivates us to do the things we want accomplished. If you were to make me choose between a wise guy and a motivated person to be an employee, I would take the motivated one any day.
My point would like to take my back to one of my motivation. It is about the success story of Mr. Henry Sy. He is one true example of rags to riches. Now the wealthiest man in the Philippines, it is a stature that is worlds apart from where he originally was. It is a story that anyone would find uplifting and inspirational. If I do not have this weakness of memory I wouldn’t have to read back his quotations, success story and his works every now and then. I will forever be motivated with all the things I do, especially in business. We are talking about a man who just started a meek retail store, and ended up to be the father of Philippine retail.
Advertising, marketing and branding have all been changed by social media. A business owner must find a way to get more traffic for website which represents his business. Look up the stories of people such as Mr. Henry Sy and you will find that timing is essential. Taking the opportunity before it passes you by is the key. Online marketing needs the right motivation, hard work and the constant flow of potential customers; progress would soon follow. Make things happen and get more traffic. Things might take care of itself from there.
