If you’ve recently created a website and plan to depend mostly on ad campaigns, pay per click and such; you might want to rethink you’re strategy. I’ve lost count of how many business owners I’ve met with the mindset of spending all their allocated investment right there and then. I’m talking about some clients that do not even want to spend a week on waiting before we get something done naturally to promote the website he requested. I have a clue where they would get the idea that all it takes to get a website ranked is money. I guess that’s how business is done in the physical world and now that it’s required to have your business represented online, they want to do things with haste just like how they put up their physical business.
Well tell you what, it doesn’t work like that. And sometimes I get tired of educating them that there are other ways where you don’t have to spend as much to the point that I sound like I’m begging.
Take article submission sites for example. Now that is a great way to build back links. It is that one proven way that you should learn on day one of internet marketing. If you know how to play your cards well when it comes to article submission sites, all you’re going to need is a nice set of high quality articles and your good to go. Next step is to let time take care of the rest. Surprisingly though, that is still not the best part of it; what’s impressive is you are almost assured to get hundreds or thousands of visitors in a month and the privilege is free.
How do they work?
Article submission sites works just like libraries. You basically donate your articles to it so that others can grab a copy. That brings us to two types of article submission sites based on their policies. There are those that only allow articles to be copied ones and others that allow the articles submitted to be copied multiple times. You’ll have to spend some researching on the pros and cons of those two because it also makes a difference on the rankings.
How are you supposed to choose on which site to submit your best articles?
Highest Traffic Websites – you want to get the most out of your written content so it’s only logical to go where the most exposure is. It’s best to look at the traffic the article directory is receiving. It’s always best that it’s one of those highest traffic websites.
What are their policies – you want to make sure they will allow certain level of customization for your marketing efforts. After all, you’re not giving them your articles just for the sake of it. You want to promote your own site with what you’ll be submitting. Verify if they’ll allow some link back to your site; anchor text that hyperlinks to where you want the readers to go. The best ones even allow an about me section to be pasted on your articles.
